File Preparation Guidelines
Please prepare files according to these criteria:
For QuarkXpress
documents, send the layout including all images and graphics used. Also send
the font suitcase including
screen fonts and postscript fonts (Adobe Type
1).
For artwork produced entirely in PhotoShop, send the
document with image layers separated to optimize color
matching.
Save logos, illustrations, and drawings as
Illustrator .EPS or .TIFF files with all text converted to curves (unless you
can provide all used
fonts).
Digital images should be saved as
CMYK .TIFF files (Macintosh, no LZW
compression).
Picture and text boxes should have no runaround unless absolutely
required.
Use
QuarkXpress or Illustrator instead of PhotoShop for solid fill
text.
Rotate any pictorial
graphic only in the file's native
application.
Solid fill colors
should be specified as Pantone PMS
colors.
When scanning
images, scan at the highest possible resolution, optimally 600-800 dpi. If
this quality level is not possible, use your scanned graphics for layout and
placement only (labeled FPO on the layout) and provide us with the original
images. We will scan and promptly return them upon completing your job. Do not
use software interpolation to increase file
resoluation.
If you don't have access to all three applications (Quark,
PhotoShop and Illustrator) please contact us to provide you with the best
alternative methods to insure the highest quality output of your job.
